Dr. Tim Wood, Director of our Center for Academic and Professional Enhancement, and CDM faculty member, Dr. Nithya Venugopal, presented at the Physician Assistant Education Association (PAEA) 2016 Education Forum in Minneapolis on Saturday, October 15th. Dr. Venugopal commented, “Mentoring has played an important role in academic medicine and is thought to increase career satisfaction, productivity, and professional growth. However, the traditional dyadic mentoring model is not always possible to meet the needs of today’s faculty.
PAEA is in the process of forming an online mentoring community that enables faculty to build Peer to Peer professional relationships. Even though the program is in its infancy, it is imperative that as faculty we are inter-professional and creative in our approach to the work that we do, whether it is teaching, patient care, or community building. This type of collaboration models our efforts at CDM and WesternU.”
